Application
Rega heavy-duty rectangular dampers are designed to meet the arduous requirements
of the offshore, industrial, chemical and nuclear industries, where dependable
performance under a wide range of operating conditions is essential. Standard
designs are available to operate at pressures up to 5000Pa or temperatures
up to 600oC but special units can be produced for application with operating
conditions outside this range.
Construction
Meeting such a range of application requirements demands a wide variety
of manufacturing techniques. Damper casing are produced from mild steel,
galvanised steel or stainless steel in thickness from 1.5mm to 6mm. Continuous
shafts support aerofoil section blades for high velocity applications or
stub shafts supporting single skin blades may be used where solid particles
are in the air or gas stream. Contra or parallel rotation of the blades
is achieved by linkage systems in materials that match the damper casings.
Range
Type MCD-01 Control damper – Medium duty for control or shut off
applications. Single unit size up to 1200mm square but may be modularised
for unit up to 3000mm x 2000mm. The dampers are suitable for operating pressure
up to 3000Pa and the shut off unit will achieve a leakage of only 45 l/s
per square metre at 1000Pa.
Type HFD-01 Fire Damper – Heavy duty damper designed primarily for
offshore petrochemical or nuclear applications. Fire tested to BS476 Part
20 (Lloyds certificate SAS/F26/295 refers) using the cellulosic temperature
curve, the units are rated for use in class A fire divisions.
Type TID-01 Isolation Damper – Total isolation dampers are designed
to be virtually leak free under high pressure conditions. They allow maintenance
or duct cleaning to be carried out in systems conveying hazardous gases.
TID-01 units are suitable for operation at 6000Pa and achieve a bubble tight
seal.
Type MDB-01 Non Return Damper – MBD-01 units prevent the reverse
flow of air or gases in duct systems. They may be provided with spring or
balance weight control to act as pressure relief devices in rooms or duct
systems.
