Application
Regatenuators provide the ideal solution to noise problems in duct systems
whether for the prevention of cross-talk or the absorption of noise generated
by duct components. They have a high level of acoustic performance and the
strong outer casing prevents noise breakout into surrounding areas. The
metal construction gives fire resistant characteristics to BS 476 Part 20.
Construction
The double layer inner tube is perforated to provide a 25% open area, this
is wrapped with high-density mineral wool. Between the mineral wool and
the inner tube a woven glass fibre cloth prevents fibre intrusion into the
air stream. The outer casing is of flexible aluminium as standard, but flexible
stainless steel or rigid galvanised steel options are available for specific
applications. The flexible case units will bend to a 1D radius of the outer
casing diameter. The units terminate with galvanised steel end caps having
male spigot ends to suit standard duct sizes.
Range
Regatenuators are available in sizes from 80mm to 450mm diameters. To provide
varying degrees of acoustic performance the silencers can be supplied with
25mm, 50mm or 75mm insulation. The standard production lengths are 500mm,
1000mm and 2000, alternatively specific lengths may be produced to suit
installation conditions. As an option to the standard male end caps, female
sockets or flexible tube ‘Tails’ are available to ease installation.
